The European Business History Association (EBHA) and the French Business History Association (AFHE), with financial and logistical support from the Fondation Maison de Salins, invite applications for the 13th EBHA Franco Amatori Doctoral Summer School. The school will take place in Salins-les-Bains (Jura, France) from 6 to 11 September 2026.
This year’s theme, “Transitions and Variety of Business Organizations in European Capitalism,” is closely linked to current intellectual, scientific, and methodological debates in business history. The summer school is designed for doctoral students seeking to deepen their understanding of advanced theoretical, methodological, and practical approaches in the field. It aims to provide participants with an overview of recent research developments while fostering a supportive academic environment in which PhD students can present and discuss their work with leading international scholars and fellow researchers.
The program combines lectures and seminars delivered by an international faculty with student presentations of their research projects. Each participant will give a presentation outlining research questions, objectives, methodology, sources, challenges, and preliminary findings. Presentations are followed by structured discussion and feedback from faculty members and peers.
Participants will be accommodated in Salins-les-Bains, a historic village known for its UNESCO-listed heritage.
